On Days Like Today, We Must Place Our Faith in God

Today was a very tough day for those who believe in the sanctity of life, from conception through to natural death. Three heartbreaking stories rocked us today, including the disastrous Supreme Court decision declaring unconstitutional a law passed by the duly-elected Louisiana legislature and governor to require abortionists to have admitting rights to a local hospital. You can read about all three stories at the Rising Faith News Dashboard. It is critical for all life-affirming Christians to actively pray and act now for an end to the assault on life in our nation. https://www.risingfaith.org/dashboard-news

But in whom should we ultimately put our faith during stormy times like these? The answer is right under our nose in our Gospel reading today, where Jesus calms the violent seas that are rocking His apostles with fear. In the midst of all of the turmoil, sinfulness, and bad decisions that exist in our world, Jesus reminds us that He is always with us, and that our faith should never fail to rest in Him, even if we don't understand, or are disheartened, or can't see a way forward. May we reach out our arms to Him now, and never lose faith that He will calm the sin and storms of our world.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a Fount of Mercy for us, I TRUST IN YOU.
